Anya studied Kinesiology at the University of Maryland, College Park. After getting married she moved to Taiwan where she taught English and learned Chinese. She then moved to Oregon to pursue a Master’s degree in (International) Public Health Education and Promotion.
Starting her second year in Oregon Anya’s husband was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition which set her on a path to explore alternative health practices in an effort to help her husband. His medical issues triggered her own traumas and inspired Anya to seek out yoga, meditation and other spiritual and healing practices to relieve her own overwhelm, anxiety and feelings of disconnection. After 13 years of intense medical ups and downs Anya’s husband had a miraculous surgery and recovery and is now symptom-free.
Anya’s healing experiences continue to deepen as she evolves on her path to wholeness, and in pursuit of truth, love, wisdom, inner freedom and joy. Her current journey is one of heart opening and coming home to her true and Divine Self. Her life path inspires and informs her in helping others along their own journeys as they seek to connect to their own hearts, inner guidance and gifts.
Anya is a certified Forrest Yoga Teacher, having completed Ana Forrest’s beginner and advanced yoga teacher trainings in 2001 and 2003. She is also a certified Nia White Belt teacher and has thoroughly enjoyed teaching people about the joy of movement.
Anya became a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner in 2015 and is currently in her third year of shamanic healer training with Susan Thunder Raven of Wolfsong’s School of Shamanic Healing.
In the meantime, Anya is grateful for each and every day and all the joyful blessings in her life. In her free time she likes to hike, dance, live in positivity, eat well, drink an occasional espresso, play Rummikub and goof around with her family and friends.
